Job Description: Managing Processes, Financial Software, Developing Standards, Audit, Accounting, Academy Finance, Tracking Budget Expenses, Financial Skills, Analyzing Information, Developing Budgets, Performance Management, Cashflows, and Human Resource Functions. Works directly with Academy’s Director of Finance. Professional dress, demeanor, pacing, scheduling, are all critical to this role. It is expected that hours of work will 8-5 Monday through Friday. Reduced summer and holiday hours.


  • Prepares monthly financial statements
  • Ensure compliance with bonds
  • Prepares and files all bondholder reports
  • Prepare yearly budget
  • Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
  • Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls
  • Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting internal audits
  • Maximizes return, and limits risk, on cash by minimizing bank balances; making investments in accordance with Academy policy
  • Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable
  • Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
  • Prepares cashflows
  • Reconcile bank accounts
  • Oversee orderly accounting filing system
  • Process payroll and all associated tax and benefit filings
  • Develop and file state and federal budget matters (IDEA, Title, Land Trust, etc.)
  • Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
  • Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data
  • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to Director of Finance
  • Prepares state and federal reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.
  • Maintains financial staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Act as Human Resource Manager
