Freedom Preparatory Academy Middle School is seeking a part-time (20-24 hours/week) tutor in Math for students in grades 6-8. Compensation is dependent on experience. Position is available August 1, 2022 and concludes on May 19, 2023, with option to continue position for the 2023-24 school year. Responsibilities include:
Tutoring 6th- 8th grade students who are currently struggling in their Math courses.
Providing push-in services to classroom teachers who need support for low-achieving students.
Using approved programs to help students with content mastery.
Working with a caseload of up to 25 students.
Applicants must have outstanding organization and communication skills, as they will be required to create schedules, track students’ progress, compile data, and communicate with various stakeholders. Applicants’ schedule must be flexible, so services can be offered during the school day, before school, after school, and via electronic meetings (i.e. Zoom).
Benefits include an education grant at the end of the term of service which can be applied to tuition, textbooks, or toward student loan payments. For tutors over age 55, the education grant may be gifted to a child or grandchild of the tutor. Experience working in a school setting is preferred but not required.
