Provo Secondary

The Provo Secondary Campus (high school & middle school) for Freedom Academy serves students from Provo and surrounding neighborhoods. The facility offers technology-equipped classrooms, engineering and science labs, a media arts space, an athletic field and a college resource center.

Sports and extracurricular activities

Volleyball

Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team’s court under organized rules.

Basketball

Basketball is a team sport. Two teams of five players each try to score by shooting a ball through a hoop elevated 10 feet above the ground. Played on a court with a hoop at each end.

Soccer

In soccer there are two teams of eleven players. Played on a large grass field with a goal at each end. The object of the game is to get the soccer ball into the opposing team’s goal.

Cross Country

Cross country running: teams and individuals run a race on open-air courses over natural terrain such as dirt or grass. Click HERE to download our PDF.

Archery

Archery is the sport, practice or skill of using a bow to propel arrows. The word comes from the Latin arcus. Historically, archery has been used for hunting and combat.

Track

A sport which includes athletic contests established on the skills of running, jumping, and throwing.

Sports philosophy

Freedom Prep Academy’s Athletic Program is a natural extension of the school curriculum that provides for the growth and development of Freedom students. Athletics provide a great venue for teaching numerous qualities and life skills that are essential to the development of Freedom’s student-athletes.
 
Our desire is to develop the mind, body, and spirit of our students through participation on our athletic teams.
 
As a member of an athletic team, students will learn to be better communicators and goal setters and will be challenged to develop a strong work ethic. The importance of commitment to team, perseverance through adversity, and good sportsmanship are an important focus of the athletic program. Athletic participation is encouraged for all students in grades 6–12 who are willing to commit time and effort to practice and play.
